She is blessed and will outlive us all! ❤️.Repost from @becauseofthem•Viola Fletcher, the oldest living survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre, turned 110 years old on May 5, 2024. “I’m real proud to be this age,” Fletcher told WHSV3. ⁠⁠The mother of three and grandmother of six celebrated her birthday surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors with plenty of food, flowers, and music. There’s certainly a lot to celebrate for this centenarian. Fletcher was seven years old when a racist white mob brutally attacked and destroyed the homes, businesses, and property of Black residents in the Greenwood neighborhood of Tulsa. ⁠⁠The resulting devastation and poverty are still impacting the Black community in Tulsa generations later. Almost half of registered voters polled in seven swing states, 48 percent, said they would trust Harris a lot or somewhat to assume the responsibilities of the presidency if President Joe Biden could no longer do so. Eleven percent of voters said they wouldn’t trust Harris very much while 38 percent said they wouldn’t trust Harris at all. It marks the highest level of confidence in Harris’ ability to serve as president since Morning Consult and Bloomberg began polling voters in the seven battlegrounds of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin in October. The latest survey, conducted from May 7-13, surveyed nearly 5,000 registered voters in those states.Biden’s age has consistently registered as a concern for voters. If re-elected, Biden, 81, would be 87 at the end of his second term in 2029. At a certain point, it gets to be too much. That’s where we are now.”The San Francisco Police Department has not identified a suspect in the fire. Previously, the department said it was investigating the sending of packages that contained racist threats against Williams to his home as hate crimes but has not identified a suspect in that case either, or whether they are related. Since the fire, Williams said he has received dozens of letters and notes that are plastered on the boarded-up garage doors of his torched home. The notes tell him to not move and keep his head up.
