Who is eligible to play in the 2024 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships?
Athletes who have competed and secured a Gold Medal in one of USA Pickleball’s Golden Ticket Qualifying events
Gold Medalists from the following tournaments qualify for 2024 National Championship bracket entry:

If you fall into the 70+ age category and entered a 70+division in a Golden Ticket qualifier event, even if your bracket was combined with a lower age division, you are still eligible to register for the 2024 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships regardless of your results.
However, You must play in a 70+ or greater bracket (even if combined) to be eligible. If you’re competing as partners, you must have both played in a qualifying tournament to be eligible to register for the 2024 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships.
Inclement Weather Policy: Players who were registered and paid to play in any of the above Golden Ticket events and could not complete play due to inclement weather, USA Pickleball will honor this as meeting the 2024 Nationals participation qualification.
What is the amateur format of play?
This is a double-elimination tournament for amateur-level athletes. All winner bracket matches will be the best two out of three games to 11, with a win by 2 points. Opportunity bracket matches will be one game to 15, with a win by 2.
With one loss, Bronze is the highest achievable level. The Bronze and Gold/Silver medal matches will best 2 out of 3 games to 11 points, with a win by 2.
How do I get an official UTR-P Pickleball Rating?
Since all players must participate in a USAP sanctioned event prior to Nationals, the UTPR rating system will generate a UTR-P tournament rating for you.

Can I play in both the Pro and Senior Pro Divisions in the same event?
Yes, as long as the schedule of play occurs on separate days. View Schedule
What determines my age category?
Your eligible age category is the age you will be on December 31, 2024.
Can Juniors play in both skill/age events and Junior events?
Yes. For skill/age events, Junior players must meet the participation requirement and pay the required event fee for each event. Juniors who wish to play in Junior divisions (18 years and younger) are not required to meet the participation requirements.
Junior brackets will include 12-14, 15-16, and 17-18.
Juniors with a 5.0+ rating may choose to participate in Pro events if they meet the participation requirements. However, Juniors are not eligible to participate in an amateur event if they participate in any Pro division.
What determines the age bracket of the team
For Junior events, the age of the oldest player is used to select the bracket. If a Junior (18 and younger) is playing with a non-Junior (ages 19+), the 19+ age group will be used. Juniors may play in both Junior events and 19+ skill/age events if they have met the participation requirements.
What ball will be used at Nationals?
The Franklin X-40 Optic Green ball will be used for all Nationals play.
When does registration open?
Registration will begin in late summer/early fall for all players who have received a Golden Ticket from a qualifying tournament. Golden Ticket winners will receive an email notifying them that registration is open.
Golden Ticket winners will only be able to register for events in which they have received a Golden Ticket.
Golden tickets - a team wins them individually and can use them to play with different partners.
What is the Lottery registration this year??
The lottery will first open for silver and bronze medallists from USA Pickleball’s Golden Ticket Events. It will then open up to anyone who played in a Golden Ticket Event.

I earned the opportunity to pre-register, but I only get to register for the one event type, how do I get into the other events?
Any player who qualified during a Golden Ticket Event and wants to register for other events in which they did not earn a Golden Ticket, must go through the Lottery.
How do you know if a player is playing with an approved paddle?
Please check the USA Pickleball Approved Equipment list to verify all EEC approved paddles and equipment.

The 2024 Biofeeze USA Pickleball National Championships is set up so that players may only participate in one event per day.

Can I use more than one Golden Ticket?
If you earned more than one Golden Ticket in a gender doubles event, you will only be able to use one of those Golden Tickets for your registration
When I try to register online, it asks for my USA Pickleball membership number. How do I get a USA Pickleball membership number?
Your USA Pickleball membership number is located in your membership account. If you need to apply for or renew your USA Pickleball membership, your membership number will be active once your account balance is current.
Memberships completed and paid online are processed in real time, so players will automatically receive an email with their member numbers.
You can only sign up for the 2024 Biofreeze USA Pickleball Nationals once you have received your member number.
Please note: your USA Pickleball membership must be valid through November 17, 2024.

What are the registration and event fees?
Registration: $175 / person
Event Fees are as follows:
- Amateur: $45 per event
- Juniors: $20 per event
- Wheelchair: $20 per event
- Pro: $140 per event
- Champions Pro (50+ age group): $125 per event
- Masters Pro (60+ age group): $120 per event

When are my fees due?
Fees are due at the time of registration.
If I cancel my registration and withdraw from the event, can I get a refund?
Players who received a confirmation email with a confirmed event are eligible for a refund less a $35 withdrawal fee.
All requests for refunds must be made to nationalsreg@usapickleball.org.
Will there be a referee for every match
Our goal is to provide the highest-quality, fully staffed event. To accomplish this, we plan to have a USA Pickleball-certified referee for every match.
Do I need to check in each day of play?
Yes, you will need to check in each day you are scheduled to take the court.
